Become a Community + Education Partner!

Applications are now open for 2026!

The St. Michaels Farmers Market (SMFM) is seeking participants for its free Community + Education pop-up tent, to be filled each week of market by community organizations who share our passion for our beloved community.

Who: Priority will be given to nonprofits and community groups and individuals with a focus on farming, gardening, nature and the outdoors, healthy cooking, healthy living practices, families, kids, and getting to know our neighbors.

When: We are rain or shine farmers market, open Saturday mornings (8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.) in downtown Saint Michaels, open from April 11 to November 21, 2026, as well as a special holiday market the first weekend in December. Our Community + Education participants often attend market once a month, or every other month, but attendance can be adjusted to fit your needs. Each participant will be asked to arrive early (roughly 7:30 a.m.) to help our volunteers set up market and stay after close (no later than 12 noon) to help break down their tent space.

What: We encourage activities that engage all market-goers, including kids and families, such as demonstrations, art activities, mini-classes, story time, etc. No soliciting, sales, or political activity may occur in the space. A tent, table, and two chairs will be provided by the SMFM.

Etc.: Each participant must sign a liability waiver, and have a Health Department permit (if required).
