Frequently Asked Questions

When is the market?

The St. Michaels Farmers Market takes place on Saturday mornings form 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. from April through November. The 2024 season begins on April 13 and ends on November 23.

What if there’s bad weather?

In most cases, we are open rain or shine, unless it is deemed unsafe for our customers or vendors. We will announce any market closures on our website and via both our newsletter and social media.

Where do I park?

There are several free parking options, including in the lot directly adjacent to market, as well as on nearby streets such as Talbot or Fremont.

Are there restrooms?

Yes! We now have free, public restrooms on site in the parking lot directly adjacent to market.

Can I bring my dog to the market?

Yes! We love our four-legged friends, but they must be kept on a leash at all times, and please use your best judgement depending upon your animal’s social skills.

Can I use a credit card?

Many of our vendors accept credit, though some prefer cash, while others also utilize digital payment options, such as Venmo. Starting in the 2023 season, we will no longer provide market tokens in exchange for credit cards. The nearest ATM is located around the corner on Talbot Street..

Do you accept SNAP nutritional benefits?

Yes! Many of our vendors currently accept SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program). Please see our market information tent on Saturdays for more information.

Are your vendors local?

Yes! All of our vendors grow or make their products within less than 100 miles of the market. They receive an on-farm or on-site visit prior to the beginning of each season to verify their local production. See our “Why Local?” section to learn more about our producer-only approach.

What do terms like organic certified or free range actually mean?

See our glossary of common market terms.
